President’s Message

Thank you to everyone who planned, set-up, cleaned-up and attended our Women’s Equality Day event! We heard lots of positive reviews about the luncheon itself, about Kat Taylor our speaker, and about the wonderful women we honored. In the weeks before the event we were concerned about attendance, but by the day of the luncheon we had a crowd of 150 eating, listening and laughing.

All in all, it was a wonderful day. It was also a successful day for our caucus. We were able to raise $17,000 for our PAC account. These are monies that will help us endorse and support women candidates in upcoming elections.

Good Work NWPC Fresno!

October is the month we are honored to hear from the League of Women Voters. They will be sharing the research the League has done on the state propositions and ballot measures facing us in the November election. They will provide us with the pros and cons of each issue including the costs if passed as well as the consequences of passage or rejection of a measure.

This is always an interesting and informative presentation and we are grateful for the League for their willingness to share their research and examination of the issues we will face on the ballot.

At the October meeting we are hoping to present a slate of officers for 2027. If you are interested in joining the Board please contact Cathy Brass (fresnofiglady@yahoo.com) or Claudia Soria Delgado (csoriad@gmail.com). Cathy and Claudia are the nominating committee and will present the roster for a vote at the December meeting. There will be more information on this at the October meeting.

That’s all for now. Let’s get to work helping our endorsed candidates get elected!

My best to all,

Lynn Badertscher
